Due to the surface and gradient of the pontoons at Boathouse 4, they are not accessible for most standard wheelchairs or mobility scooters. However, we are committed to supporting visitors with access needs wherever possible.
If you are able to transfer, we can provide a specialist wheelchair to help you reach the pontoons.
Landing Craft Foxtrot 8 (F8)
We can accommodate one wheelchair user per trip on F8. A small ramp is available for boarding, and our specialist wheelchairs can be used to access both the pontoon and the vessel. To board F8 using this equipment, visitors need to be able to transfer into one of the specialist wheelchairs with support from their companion(s) and/or our trained staff.
If you would like to discuss your access needs before booking, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.
Motor Gun Boat 81and High Speed Launch 102
Motor Gun Boat 81 and High Speed Launch 102 are original historic vessels, their design and structure reflect the period in which they were built. As a result, access on board is limited, with narrow passageways, steps, and uneven surfaces. This means the boats are not easily accessible for many visitors with mobility requirements, including wheelchair users and those who cannot manage steps or small spaces.
We want every visitor to have the best possible experience. If you would like advice on whether MGB 81 or HSL102 are suitable for you, or if you wish to discuss your access needs in advance, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
Printed tickets are not required but will be accepted. Digital tickets on your phone are accepted.
We recommend warm layers and a waterproof jacket, please keep any loose articles secured, we don’t go back for hats! In sunny conditions sunscreen and secured sunglasses are recommended.
Yes, all passengers are provided with life jackets and these must be worn at all times onboard our vessels. We have life jackets for children and have life jacket extenders should these be needed.
